Demo for JameGam
A downloadable game for macOS
Resolution is 256x160, not very well designed for cross platform.
Coded with Love2d, the file requires love installed to run I think.
Made in abt 20 hours, you might think that's quite a lot for the underwhelming contents, but the physics system took like 6 fucking hours, blame that. (also resolution problems took another couple)
Entire world has ice physics :3
Silent bc a) I suck at music and b) I don't know how to implement it and c) I very much did not have the time -_-
At least I have 16x16 top down collision detection now lol, planning to join more game jams some point soon so that'll be useful :3
Started this yesterday morning, did a couple hours of pixel art, a couple hours of code.
Woke up at half 5 today and have spent pretty much every moment I can coding this. (sadly not as much as i'd like since christmas eve and stuff).
Also i'm starting to realise now you really ought not to join mid jam lol.
CONTROLS:
X to attack (also resets momentum)
C to jump (it's kinda a bad jump, I have no clue how to code jumps)
Left and Right arrows to move.
If I get more time over the next week or so, i'll make the blocks actual blocks not platforms, try fix the jump, add friction (I tried a couple hours ago before I went to see a play but it failed so I had to scrap it -_-), add shops enemies and candy canes.
The original idea was a top down 2d platformer/metroidvania about an elf fighting grinch's minions to earn candy to get candy canes (power ups and stuff) with some cool boss fights. Way too ambitious for 2 days lol.
